13. October - 22. October
Inspired by the exhibition Gillian Wearing – Family Stories, SMK focuses on families throughout the school’s autumn holidays. We look forward to seeing you for family dance sessions, creative workshops and a cosy family dinner.
Exhibition: Gillian Wearing – Family Stories
In a range of video works, photographs and sculptures, British artist Gillian Wearing tells us poignant as well as unpleasant stories about families and the relationships we might see between different members of the same family – for example between mother and child.
Children’s Workshop: Families and communities
Every day of the holidays you can build sculptures, paint, create collages and express your own creative takes on what a family might look like. Price: DKK 30 plus standard admission fee.
Culture Night: Family Stories
The museum’s Stage is transformed into a giant dance floor complete with coloured light and mirror balls. Take your mother, brother, aunt or cousin with you as we invite everyone to a family dance session.
The Culture Night also features art talks aimed at children, drawing workshops focusing on family portraits, and a cosy family dinner of kid-friendly food served at long tables. Culture Pass required.
Culture Night at KAS
During Culture Night, the Royal Cast Collections opens its doors. Come and watch thousands of plaster casts and make your own plaster figurine. Culture Pass required.
Family food in the café
To celebrate the autumn holidays the café serves particularly family-friendly food. For example we offer a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese or chicken nuggets with chips to please the palates of our young art fans.
This year’s autumn holidays run from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 October. Don’t forget that the museum is open on Monday 16 October.
